Privacy notice
Last updated 31 October 2026
In short: we use the details you give us to understand your funding needs and introduce you to a suitable broker or lender. We share them only with that firm and the services that run our website and enquiries. We never sell your data.
Who we are
Midbridge Finance is a trading name of [Company name] Ltd, registered in England & Wales, company number [number], registered office [address]. We are the data controller for the information you give us. ICO registration number: [number].
Contact us about your data at hello@midbridgefinance.co.uk, by phone on 0333 038 3252, or by post at the address above.
What we collect
- Contact details: name, company, email address and phone number.
- About your deal: the type of finance, what it's for, the property type and location, the amount, how you plan to repay, your timescale, your property experience and any notes you add.
- Calculator figures you choose to send with your enquiry.
- Credit history: whether you have any credit issues, in the general terms you choose. We don't run credit checks on borrowers.
We collect this only when you fill in our enquiry form or contact us. The calculators work in your browser and send nothing unless you submit the form.
When you use the website, our hosting and security provider also processes technical information such as your IP address and browser type, to deliver the pages and protect the site and enquiry form from attacks and spam.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
- To answer your enquiry and find a suitable broker or lender. This is a step you ask us to take before entering into an arrangement, and is in our legitimate interests as an introducer.
- To pass your details to the broker or lender we introduce you to. We do this with your consent, which you give on the form. You can withdraw it at any time by contacting us.
- To keep records of introductions and any fees we receive, as required for tax, accounting and legal purposes.
Who we share it with
- The broker or lender we introduce you to. They will tell you how they use your data under their own privacy notice.
- Service providers who process data for us under contract:
- Cloudflare: hosts this website and protects it from attacks. Its Turnstile check on the enquiry form uses information about your browser and connection to tell people from automated spam. It is not used for advertising.
- Make.com: receives website enquiries and passes them to our email and records.
- Microsoft 365: our email, our enquiry records and the finance illustrations we prepare for you.
- Authorities where the law requires it.
Some service providers may store data outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on safeguards approved under UK data protection law, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or adequacy regulations.
How we protect it
Your details travel to us over encrypted connections and are kept in accounts protected by two-step login, which only Midbridge Finance can access. Case figures we save in our own calculator app stay on our own devices and are deleted automatically after 12 months. We send your details to a broker or lender only by a secure method agreed with them.
Beware of fraud. We will never ask you to send money, pay a fee or change bank details by email, text or phone. If you get a message like this that claims to be from us, don't reply or pay, and contact us using the details on our website.
Automated decisions
We don't make decisions about you by automated means. Our calculators give illustrations only; a person reviews every enquiry.
How long we keep it
If we make an introduction, we keep your details for 6 years after the introduction for legal and accounting reasons. If no introduction goes ahead, we delete your enquiry within 12 months. This includes the copies in our email and our enquiry service, Make.com, which keeps each enquiry in its history for a limited period only.
If you're a broker or business partner
Before we work with a broker, we check the firm and the people who run it. This section covers the directors, owners, staff and referees of brokers and other firms we work with.
- What we collect: names, job titles and work contact details; for directors and owners of 25% or more, date of birth, home address, proof of identity and address, and the results of the checks below; details of your firm's FCA status, insurance, trade body membership, lender panels and fees; and the names and contact details of referees you give us.
- Where it comes from: you, through our broker application form, and public or third-party sources: Companies House, the FCA Register, the disqualified directors register, UK sanctions lists, credit reference agencies, trade bodies and the referees you name.
- Why, and our lawful basis: to decide whether to work with your firm, protect our clients and us from fraud and financial crime, and run our agreement with you. This is in our legitimate interests, and for the agreement itself it is necessary for a contract. We check criminal or adverse records only where the law allows it for preventing fraud (Data Protection Act 2018, Schedule 1, paragraph 10: preventing or detecting unlawful acts), and we keep a policy document setting out how we protect that information.
- Who we share it with: the identity, credit and sanctions check provider we use, which may record that a search was made; our professional advisers; and authorities where the law requires it.
- How long we keep it: while we work with your firm and for 6 years after the relationship ends. If we don't go ahead, we delete your application within 12 months. Referees' details are deleted once the check is complete.
You have the same rights as everyone else, listed below. Where we rely on legitimate interests, you can object, and we will stop unless we have a strong reason to continue, such as preventing fraud.
If you're a lender's business development manager
- What we collect: your name, work email and work phone number, and your lender's criteria, which you enter through the private link we send you.
- Why, and our lawful basis: to keep our lender panel up to date, match enquiries to suitable lenders and contact you about introductions. This is in our legitimate interests and yours.
- Where it's kept: with our website host, Cloudflare. A summary of each change is emailed to us through Make.com. We send you a reminder about once a month to check your criteria; just tell us if you'd rather not receive it.
- How long we keep it: while your lender is on our panel and for 12 months after it's removed, or until you ask us to update or delete your details.
Your rights
You can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or move it to another organisation. You can withdraw consent at any time. Email us and we'll respond within one month.
Complaining to us. If you're unhappy with how we've used your data, email hello@midbridgefinance.co.uk with "Data complaint" in the subject, or write to us. We'll acknowledge it within 30 days, look into it, keep you updated and tell you the outcome.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, please tell us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
Cookies
Our website doesn't use tracking or advertising cookies. Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary security cookie to protect the site, which doesn't need your consent. Our fonts are stored on our own website, so loading a page shares nothing with Google or other font services. [Update this section if you add analytics.]
Links to other websites
Our market news section shows headlines from other publishers, such as the Bank of England and trade press. We collect these on our own server, so loading our page shares nothing about you with them. If you click a headline, you go to their website and their own privacy notice applies.
Changes
We'll update this notice if how we use your data changes, and change the date at the top.
